Remember that Justice Department sex-trafficking investigation into Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz? Well, the DOJ formally decided not to charge him Wednesday, according to Gaetz's lawyers.

The Florida lawmaker has been under investigation for several years for allegedly having sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl and allegedly paying her to travel with him.

The investigation into Gaetz was followed the arrest of former Florida tax collector Joel Greenberg, a family friend of the lawmaker, who was sentenced to 11 years in prison for sex trafficking of a minor and additional offense.

The 40-year-old lawmaker has strongly denied those allegations and said he cooperated with the federal investigation.
