Today’s women’s singles final at Wimbledon will crown a fifth successive first-time champion at the All England Club.

While the winner from Ons Jabeur and Elena Rybakina will also crown a first-time Grand slam champion too.

Jabeur had a more taxing semi-final, taking three sets to beat German Tatjana Maria, while Rybakina overwhelmed former SW19 champion Simona Halep in straight sets and the Tunisian said ahead of today’s match: "If I make it on that special holiday [Eid al-Adha], one of my favourites actually, it's going to be great.

“It's going to be a special celebration maybe after, having my own barbecue maybe. We'll have to enjoy it and hopefully we'll enjoy it in positive vibes."

While Rybakina added: “I didn’t expect that I’m going to be here in the second week, especially in the final. I can say that this is really first time when I enjoyed every day of playing and just being in the tournaments.” Here’s everything you need to know.
