Oops! Man robs store right before officer walks in

WEST COVINA, California (KFOR/Storyful) – Police in West Covina, California called it being in the “right place at the right time,” and the robbery was caught on camera.

A convicted felon is seen on surveillance video January 17 asking for cigarettes from the clerk at a 7-Eleven store.

The robber then shows the clerk a gun in his waistband and demands cash.

Just as the clerk finished emptying the drawer of cash into a plastic bag, in walks Sergeant Hernandez.

The $400 in cash stolen from the register was then returned to the victim.
