Opa! 3 Greek festivals in Fort Worth and Dallas not to miss in October and November

Experience the culture of Greece right here in North Texas by enjoying authentic Greek food and watching traditional Greek performances at three Greek festivals happening this year.

Bring your appetite and dancing shoes for the 31st annual Mid-Cities Greek FoodFest on Oct. 13, 14 and 15. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Greek food will be served and there will be music, dancing and a Greek marketplace.

Try classic Greek dishes like the Santorini lamb chop, a gyro sandwich, saganaki (flaming cheese) and spinach pie. Wash it down with the Ouzo slushy, a glass of Retsina, Mavrodaphne wine or authentic Greek coffee. Don’t forget the baklava sundae to complete your meal. Attend cooking demos showcasing many of the recipes used at the festival. Check out the menu for yourself.

Admission and parking are free. The festival will take place at St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 303 Cullum Dr Euless, TX 76040.

The Greek Food Festival of Dallas, hosted by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, will take place Nov. 3-5 at 13555 Hillcrest Rd.

Enjoy traditional Greek foods like the gyro, souvlaki and lamb. Savor Greek desserts while sipping on famous Greek coffees and cocktails. Visit the agora for a one-of-a-kind Greek shopping experience, with plenty of vendors. Along with Greek dancers and cooking demos from yiayia’s kitchen, there will also be activities for kids.

Cash is not accepted on festival grounds. Parking is limited. Ride-share services are encouraged. Here are the transportation options. You can purchase tickets at the door, but the festival recommends purchasing them in advance via Eventbrite to save time and skip the line.

The 55th annual Greek celebration full of food, music and dance will take place from Nov. 10-12 at the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2020 NW 21st. St., Fort Worth. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

All food and drink purchases require credit/debit cards. Parking is at North Side High School. Festivities are indoors or under tents. Admission to the festival is $1.
