OPD partners with 911CPB to collect and donate cellphones to ‘vulnerable citizens’

OPELIKA, Ala. (WRBL) – The Opelika Police is partnering up with 911 Cell Phone Bank (911CPB) to give free cellphones to “victims of abuse, senior citizens and other vulnerable citizens in need.”

The police department says interested individuals can help by donating old cellphones. Cellphones can be dropped off at the Opelika Police Department and police said the phones will be sent by mail to 911CPB.

Worried about data on your old phones? Opelika Police assures locals that 911CPB will securely erase data on donated cellphones.
