What’s Open On Christmas In Crystal Lake, Cary: Starbucks, IHOP

CRYSTAL LAKE, CARY, IL — 'Tis the season to celebrate — although health officials are recommending you do it virtually with those who aren’t members of your household — and most of us know what it’s like to have those last-minute holiday needs.

Several chain restaurants, grocery stores and retailers will be open in Crystal Lake and Cary on Christmas and Christmas Day.

Most banks close early on Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day. Government offices are also closed, as well as public libraries (and many already have reduced services due to coronavirus restrictions).

FedEx is operating on a modified schedule on Christmas Eve; hours vary by location. Post offices are closed Christmas Day but are open from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Christmas Eve.

As far as local businesses go, you are encouraged to call ahead and confirm the hours with specific locations, since times may still vary.

The holiday will also likely affect your trash collection day. Trash pickup will happen one day late in most areas.

  • IHOP: Normally open 24/7 but some locations are operating with reduced hours.

  • Starbucks: Most are open on Christmas Day, but check your location online before heading out.
