What’s Open, Closed On New Year’s Day 2021 In Brookline
BROOKLINE, MA — On New Year’s Day, residents in Brookline will leave behind a year marked by unprecedented challenge. After spending much of the year navigating the coronavirus pandemic, many will no doubt welcome 2021 with open arms.
As we ring in the new year in our town, many local facilities and government offices will take the day off.
Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in Brookline on New Year’s Day:
Town offices will be closed on Jan. 1 for New Year's Day, but they will be open normal hours, Monday, Jan. 4. There will be a one-day delay for trash pickup: Friday on Saturday.

Michael's Deli: NYE: Closed. New Year's Day: Open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ( For the eighth year in a row, only the owner's family will be working)

Boston General Store: Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. NYE and New Years Day
Wild Goose Chase: Open 11 to 5 p.m. NYE, Closed New Years Day
Brookline Booksmith (and The Novel Kitchen) Closes at 6 p.m. NYE, Open 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. New Years Day
Tiny Hanger: Open til 4 p.m. NYE. Closed New Years Day

Coolidge Corner Theatre: Temporarily closed, but offering online events.
