Re-opened movie theater; celebrity hairstylist: What's new in Mamaroneck, New Rochelle

After years of renovations, Mamaroneck Cinemas is gearing up for their first weekend on Friday. The theater — formerly the Mamaroneck Playhouse — has eight theaters with reclining seats as well as exposed brick interiors and movie memorabilia lining its walls.

In my latest new business column, New Rochelle welcomed Hair House, a hair salon owned by celebrity hair stylist Dana Fiore. Meanwhile in The Westchester in White Plains, home décor and furniture store Arhaus opened on June 3. And, after being announced in October 2021, ClimbZone has officially opened in the Palisades Center.

Tarrytown business owners have their eyes on the prize this weekend as 3,000 dog owners and probably an equal amount of spectators head to Lyndhurst for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Lohud's  Karen Croke spoke with business owners in the river town and heard what their hopes are for this weekend.

Engaged couples looking for wedding venues throughout the Hudson Valley may find the options for the next few years are becoming few and far between as venues are booking up as far out as 2024. Freelance reporter Lisa Iannucci took a look at what couples can expect when setting out to pick a popular venue.
