The initial lineup of concerts at the new Sound Amphitheater will be announced at 9 a.m. Tuesday, while there already is confirmation of one national act coming to the Gautier venue.

Isbell, a six-time Grammy Award winner, has sold out concerts in Philadelphia, New York and Portland, Maine, this week and next.

He and the band will be playing Pittsburgh, Chicago and Atlanta before he arrives in Gautier April 19, the band’s schedule shows.

The singer-songwriter was born in northern Alabama and his music is described as “alt-country.” He’s also an actor, most recently cast in Martin Scorsese’s Western crime film Killers of the Flower Moon that was released in 2023.

The amphitheater opens as Coast casinos and Coast Coliseum expand their lineups this summer. The Isbell concert is on the opening night of the Crawfish Music Festival at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
