Opening pushed back for Whole Foods Market in suburban Boynton Beach. More tenants sign on

Fans of Whole Foods Market will have to wait another year for the location coming to unincorporated Boynton Beach. The good news: Nearly a dozen other tenants have plans to open alongside the popular supermarket, including shops, restaurants and beauty services.

Boynton Beach Marketplace, which includes a 40,000 square foot Whole Foods Market, is currently under construction at the northeast corner of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Hagen Ranch Road, one of the last undeveloped properties on the populated east-west artery of Boynton Beach Boulevard.

SJC Ventures planned for the shopping center to open by the end of this year, but leaders at the Atlanta-based development firm said the opening date is now closer to late 2024.

Once finished, the shopping center will offer a more convenient option for residents who enjoy shopping at Whole Foods Market, a chain that's owned by Amazon, operated out of Austin, Texas, and based on natural and organic foods.

The closest locations are currently in Delray Beach and Wellington, both more than 10 miles from the new location coming to unincorporated Boynton beach,

"There was a hole for Whole Foods," said Justin Latone, the senior vice president of leasing for SJC Ventures.

He said the 69,000 square-foot shopping center, including about 59,000 square feet of retail space and 10,000 square feet of restaurants, is almost fully leased with recognizable, high-end stores and services.

Along with the Whole Foods anchor, Boynton Beach Marketplace is set to include Liquivida Med Spa, Tipsy Nail Bar, Pacific Dental Services, Madison Reed and Orangetheory Fitness.

Confirmed tenants also include Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, Olive U Mediterranean Grill and Turning Point Breakfast Restaurant, along with Petfolk and Tide Dry Cleaners.

“It’s got a great mix of tenants," said Cori Jackson, the senior leasing director for SJC Ventures. "I would describe it as a little more upscale. It caters well to the customer of Whole Foods, and it should draw customers of all different ages.”
