Openings: New antique shop and a pet store + Pasco port closes $500K land deal
Kennewick’s newest pet store will give away a year’s supply of pet food and other prizes during its grand opening celebration.
Pet Supplies Plus celebrates its recent opening at 2913 W. Kennewick Ave. on June 24-25. The giveaways include free pet supplies, grooming and nail clipping.
On June 24, shoppers can win $5 and $10 scratch cards throughout the day. On June 25, the first 100 shoppers will receive a small bag of cat or dog food.
Pet Supplies Plus is a national chain operated by franchisees carrying pet supplies and providing other services, including a pet washing station.
The Kennewick store is operated by William Abdallah, who previously worked in the maintenance, repair and operations industry before searching for franchising opportunities in 2020.
“My recipe for success will be combining my knowledge of internal day-to-day operations, previous retail experience, and love for animals to be a reliable and knowledgeable asset for our neighbors and their pets,” Abdallah said in a release.
The business pledged to support local animal shelters, rescue organizations and nonprofits by hosting adoption events, fundraisers and organizing pet food and product drives.
Dogs are welcome to shop with their people in the store. Hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday.

Port of Pasco adds acres
The Port of Pasco paid nearly $500,000 for an 18.3-acre parcel next to its 300-acre Reimann Industrial Center, an important outlet for economic growth.
Darigold Inc. is building a $650 million processing plant that will employ hundreds when it opens.
The Department of Natural Resources agreed to sell the land after three years of discussions.
The property is between the existing Reimann boundary and Railroad Avenue.
No water rights were associated with the sale, though a small area is part of a larger farm circle, which will remain in operation until the port needs it for future development.
New antique mall in Richland
Sagebrush & Bloom, a new vintage and antique store in Richland, celebrates its grand opening with a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m., June 16, followed by day-long vendor fair with food trucks and other activities on June 17.
Sagebrush & Bloom is inside a warehouse on Wellsian Way. It houses 16 unique vendors who sell home décor, vintage clothing, furniture, mid-century modern décor, local honey and more.
Owner Wendy Christensen owns the Uptown Antique Market in the Uptown Shopping Center. She expanded to the new location earlier this year.
Sagebrush & Bloom is at 401 Wellsian Way, behind Cora’s E-bike shop. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Saturday.
