Openings: Cake shop expanding + High-tech hoops lab + JoAnn Fabrics reboot

Shoot 360 Tri-Cities, an immersive basketball training facility that uses video gaming technology to help clients develop their hoop skills, has added a Tri-City location.

Owners Robin and Ryan Burck opened the membership-based gym June 30 at 2541 Logan St., in Richland’s Horn Rapids Industrial Park.

Shoot 360 provides a basketball court-based setting that combines esports technology and physical practice to help clients develop their skills and compete with anyone in the system. The gym is open to all ages, including student athletes and after-work players.

The new Richland facility has five shooting stations where cameras track the arc, depth and alignment of every shot and provides instant feedback. Software that explains why a ball did or didn’t enter the basket.

The shooting court features an automatic rebounder, meaning clients can shoot up to 300 times in a 30-minute workout. Statistics are sent to an app that can be monitored from anywhere.

There are also five skills stations equipped with screens that let players follow virtual trainers or play games to develop better decision making, reaction time, speed and accuracy of passing and dribbling.

The technology tracks workouts and sends data to apps that can be used to track progress.

Hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m., weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturdays, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Sundays. There is a conference room that can be used for birthday parties and other special events.
