'I operate on facts'- Gov. Cuomo defends need for resources

On Thursday evening, Trump questioned in an interview on the Fox News network whether New York state needed 30,000 ventilators to cope with rising numbers of coronavirus patients, as Cuomo had said.

Cuomo spoke on Friday (March 27) against a backdrop of makeshift hospital beds at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

The governor has become a leading national voice on the coronavirus pandemic as the state has accounted for roughly one-third of the national death toll and half the known number of cases.
