‘Operation Home Alone 2’ nabs five suspected child predators, including ex-detective

Police in Arizona busted five suspected child predators as part of a monthlong sex trafficking crackdown dubbed “Operation Home Alone 2,” authorities announced Wednesday.

The group, which includes a former detective, is accused of trying to lure underage victims with the intent of engaging in sexual activity.

The arrests were made between Aug. 26 and Sept. 3 in Pinal and Maricopa counties, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, which led the investigation with assistance from local and federal agencies.

One of the suspects was identified as 44-year-old Christopher Butts, a Phoenix resident who once worked as a detective for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.
