Oquawka man accused of entering gas station with knife and fighting customers

An Oquawka man is facing criminal charges after police say went into a gas station with a knife and fought with customers.

Adam Huss, 34, was arrested and charged with armed robbery (class X felony) and two counts of aggravated battery (class 3 felony).

At 10:17 a.m. Sunday, a Henderson County Sheriff's deputy responded to the Phillip's 66 gas station, located at at 800 Schuyler St. in Oquawka, Illinois, for a report of a suspicious man in the gas station armed with a knife and hitting customers.

Huss is accused of going up to the cashier, demanding her to run the cash register while showing her a pocket knife, and then starting an altercation with customers, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

After an investigation, the sheriff deputy arrested Huss and transported him to the Henderson County Jail.
