Orange County deputy on patrol motorcycle seriously injured in crash, FHP says
An Orange County deputy was transported after being seriously injured in a car crash Wednesday afternoon, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened just before 2:30 p.m. on North Hiawassee Road and Beggs Road in Orlando.
A 2008 Nissan was stopped in the northbound turning lanes of Hiawassee at the intersection of Beggs Road. A deputy on an Orange County patrol motorcycle was heading south on Hiawassee approaching the intersection when the Nissan attempted to make a left turn on a green traffic light without an arrow, according to FHP.

The front left of the Nissan hit the left side of the motorcycle, and the deputy was transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Nissan, a 32-year-old woman from Plymouth, was not injured.
