Orange County Residents Wash Retardant Off Homes Following Bond Fire

Residents of a neighborhood in California’s Orange County began cleaning up Sunday, December 6, after fire retardant was dropped on their homes by crews battling the nearby Bond Fire.

Resident Steven Taylor said this video, posted Sunday, shows Modjeska Canyon residents washing away the brightly colored fire retardant off their roofs.

“You can see their roof is pink and their trees are pink,” Taylor says in the video.

Fire officials said the Bond Fire was 75-percent contained as of Tuesday, after destroying 31 structures and scorching more than 6,500 acres. Credit: Steven Taylor via Storyful
