Orange County sheriff accepting applications for Community Crime Prevention Awards

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has begun accepting applications for its third annual Community Crime Prevention Awards program.

The program awards funding to nonprofit organizations, neighborhood groups, and others engaged in efforts to reduce and prevent crime in Orange County.

The awards, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, are made possible by the sale of seized assets.

The sheriff’s office said the program will distribute $150,000 in awards for groups that qualify.

Community groups and nonprofit organizations that provide services to residents within Orange County can apply for the program.

Award applications must be submitted to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office no later than Friday, Dec  9 at 5 p.m.
