Orange Line Trolley full service resumes after flood damage

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Full service along the Orange Line Trolley returned to normal Friday after last month’s flooding, according to the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS).

MTS said the trolley was unable to serve two stations along the Orange Line since Jan. 22 due to extensive damage to a retaining wall at 65th St. and Imperial Avenue.

On Friday, MTS conducted test runs and determined it was safe to resume full service for all of its trolley stations.

The Orange Line serves a total of 19 stations across downtown San Diego, Southeast San Diego, Lemon Grove, La Mesa and El Cajon.

MTS estimates it will cost nearly $24 million to repair damage done to the transit system by the historic flood.
