Oregon bettor wins over $40,000 betting on Super Bowl LVIII

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One Oregon bettor won $40,400 placing a $20,000 bet on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII.

Oregon Lottery spokesperson Melanie Mesaros told KOIN 6 News that the $20,000 wager resulted in the state’s largest payout for Super Bowl LVIII.

Oregon bettors placed approximately 420,000 bets on Super Bowl LVIII compared to 307,000 bets placed in 2023. The Oregon Lottery saw a 19% increase in Super Bowl revenue compared to 2023. However, the agency did not say how much money was raised from the event.

KOIN 6 also asked the Oregon Lottery about the largest losing bet placed on Super Bowl LVIII. The Oregon Lottery did not respond to this request.
