Oregon graduate Sabrina Ionescu is now part of a super team in New York.

Ionescu, who was drafted by the New York Liberty No. 1 overall in 2020, has a strong chance to win a WNBA championship after her team made some key additions.

The Liberty traded for Jonquel Jones last month, then signed Breanna Stewart and Courtney Vandersloot this week.

Jones was the 2021 MVP, Stewart was the 2018 MVP, and Vandersloot is an All-Star.

They now join Ionescu, who was an All-Star and second-team All-WNBA player last season.

All four players are ranked in the top 10 in the WNBA by ESPN — Stewart (No. 1), Jones (No. 3), Vandersloot (No. 8) and Ionescu (No. 10).

Ionescu played for the Ducks from 2016-20, helping Oregon reach the 2019 NCAA Final Four. The NCAA tournament her senior season was wiped out by the pandemic.

Both she and Vandersloot played for Oregon head coach Kelly Graves, with Vandersloot playing for him at Gonzaga from 2007-11.

The Liberty open the season May 19 at the Washington Mystics, who have guard Evina Westbrook from South Salem.
