Oregon Ducks offensive linemen announce their return for 2022 season

In the final hours of 2021, the Oregon Ducks football program received some good news regarding players' plans for next season.

Not only did offensive lineman T.J. Bass announce on Twitter that he would return for his senior season in 2022, but so did fellow linemen Ryan Walk and Steven Jones.

Bass has been in the Ducks program since 2019 when he transferred from Butte College. During his career at Oregon, Bass has played at both the guard and tackle positions.

This season, Bass earned All-Pac-12 first-team honors as he helped the Ducks average 202.4 yards per game on the ground (25th in the country).

Walk was one of Oregon's best offensive linemen before suffering a left knee injury against Washington in early November. The injury knocked him out for the rest of the regular season before being cleared for the Alamo Bowl.

This season, Jones made 12 starts — four at right guard and eight at right tackle. Bass and Jones join center Alex Forsyth and right tackle Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu in declaring they'll return in 2022.

Running backs Travis Dye and C.J. Verdell and safety Verone McKinley III still have to decide on their futures within the next month.

Defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, cornerback Mykael Wright and wide receiver Devon Williams all opted out of Wednesday's 47-32 Alamo Bowl loss to Oklahoma and entered the 2022 NFL Draft.
