Oregon Ducks’ star Kayvon Thibodeaux will not play vs. Stony Brook

As a lot of us expected, it has become clear that Oregon’s all-star defender, Kayvon Thibodeaux, will take the day off against Stony Brook on Saturday.

Thibodeaux, who is projected to be an early first-round draft pick next year, has been dealing with an ankle injury that was suffered in Week 1 against Fresno State. He missed the entire second half of that game and did not play in the Ducks’ win over Ohio State last week.

The decision to hold Thibodeaux out of this game is extremely understandable, seeing as Stony Brook is an FCS school, and the Ducks’ should be able to beat them without his presence needed. It also gives Oregon an extra week to get KT closer to full health, where he can then be ready to play against Arizona next week as the conference schedule begins.

Expect to see a lot of Jake Shipley and potentially Treven Ma’ae in his absence.
