Oregon Humane Society looking to repair after cold weather damage

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Oregon Humane Society struggled through the recent winter storm after a pipe burst.

The pipe damage caused extensive flooding at their Portland location.

There are a lot of ceiling tiles missing and damage to the shelter hospital but there’s also concern about other possible damage.

“One of the big unknowns right now is what the damage is sort of behind the walls,” said Laura Klink with the Oregon Humane Society. “We’ve got some blowers going right now in the hospital that are loud and making it quite hot in there. But for now, we’re just trying to dry things out.”

They anticipate repairs can be made with the help of donors and community aid, which you can donate to on the Oregon Humane Society website.

No animals were harmed by the flooding.
