The Oregon Ducks had a long Saturday after playing in two games.

But the Ducks softball team survived and lived to fight another day.

In an elimination game that began at 10 p.m. local time, Oregon (32-18) defeated the Wichita State Shockers 8-1 in their third game of the NCAA Fayetteville Regional at Bogle Field.

Terra McGowan finished 2-for-2 on the night. Ari Carlson recorded four RBIs and a hit, while Alle Bunker had two RBIs.

Makenna Kliethermes won her 11th game of the season after pitching 3.1 innings of relief for Stevie Hanson. Kliethermes didn't allow a run while only giving up three hits.

Earlier on Saturday, Oregon lost to Arkansas 6-2 after the Razorbacks scored six times in the sixth inning.

Now, Oregon will face a tall task on Sunday by trying to defeat the same Arkansas team twice. Because it is double-elimination, the Ducks will need to beat the Razorbacks twice to advance to next weekend's Super Regional against either No. 13 Washington or Texas.

The first game between Oregon and Arkansas will be played at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, which will be 1 p.m. in Arkansas. If the Ducks defeat the Razorbacks, the next game will begin about 30 minutes after the first game's conclusion.
