Oregon winter weather live updates: Friday Salem-area delays, closures

The snow has stopped in the Willamette Valley, but it has been replaced by chilly temperatures with lows in the teens and highs in the 30s over the next few days. Wind chill advisories were issued overnight for the Cascade Foothills and towns such as Mill City and Detroit for wind chill values as low as negative 10.

The cold temperatures have created icy roads and dangerous conditions in some areas. Here are the latest closures and delays for the Salem area on Friday, Feb. 24:

  • Amity School District: Two-hour delay, morning and afternoon buses on snow routes.

  • Blanchet Catholic School: Delayed start, classes start at 10 a.m., no early bird classes. Bus schedule: QP- 9:20, St. Joes 9:30, St. Ed's - 9:20, St. Luke's- 9:20, Sac Heart - 9:30.

  • Central 13J School District: Two-hour delay, morning buses on snow routes, no out-of-district transportation.

  • Chemeketa Community College: All campuses and outreach centers will open at 10:30 a.m.

  • Dallas School District: Two-hour delay, morning and afternoon buses on snow routes.

  • Dayton School District: Two-hour delay, no morning preschool.

  • Gervais School district: Two-hour delay.

  • Lebanon Community Schools: Morning buses on snow routes.

  • McMinnville School District: (updated) Closed.

  • Molalla River School District: Closed.

  • North Marion School District: Twhour delay, no morning preschool.

  • OCDC Headstart: Independence, McMinnville, Concordia, and Seymour on a two-hour delay. Silverton Campus is closed.

  • Perrydale School District: Two-hour delay.

  • Queen of Peace Catholic School: Two-hour delay, classes begin at 10:15 a.m.

  • Sheridan School District: (updated) Closed.

  • Silver Falls School District: Closed.

  • St. Paul School District: Two-hour delay.

  • Willamette ESD: (updated) Yamhill Center closed. Two-hour delay at Polk County sites, including preschool. WCA evening open house postponed.

  • Willamette University: PNCA is closed with classes and services remote; Salem campus is open for normal operations.

  • Yamhill Carlton School District: Closed.
