Oriole Beach Elementary in lockdown as deputies investigate nearby Walgreens robbery

Oriole Beach Elementary School is on a precautionary lockdown while the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office investigates a robbery at a nearby Walgreens.

In a Facebook message the school's principal wrote to notify families "we are currently in secure facility at the direction of the law enforcement due to an external incident off campus. All students and staff are safe and we will notify you as soon as we receive the all clear from the Sheriff’s Office.

"Parents are asked to not to try to enter the school at this time as the facility is secure. However, once we receive the all clear, students will be able to be dismissed as normal. There is the potential for the car line to move a little slower than normal. Again, all students and staff are safe. Thank you for your patience and understanding."
