CHRIS CRAWFORD: You are assuredly looking for starting pitching help at this point in the year. And if you're not, congratulations. If you're one of us, mortal humans, and looking for an under the radar arm, Dean Kremer might be someone to take a closer look at. Recalled by Baltimore at the start of June, Kremer had a lackluster first outing of the season against the Guardians. But the 26-year-old has looked solid in his last three efforts, giving up a total of one run in his next 16 and 2/3 innings.

It's important to point out that Kremer was awful last year, with a 7.55 ERA in 13 starts. But the right hander was a big part of the Manny Machado deal from the Dodgers, who was put on draft radars with a 1.71 ERA over 4 starts to end the 2020 year. With a fastball that generates plenty of spin, a cutter that bears into the hands of left handed hitters, and a serviceable change, Kremer has the stuff to succeed. And right now, he's throwing that stuff for quality strikes. There's no doubt that he's a riskier option than some. There is the potential for reward to go with it.
