Orlando community rallies for rights of Florida’s marginalized communities at Lake Eola

Several organizations are taking part in what they’re calling the “March for Our Dreams and Freedom” in downtown Orlando.

They’re advocating for the LGBTQ-plus community as a state ban on gender-affirming care heads to court.

A variety of groups are expected to come out Monday night to talk about legislation in Tallahassee that they feel targets immigrant communities, the transgender community, LGBTQ+ people, students, reproductive rights, and more

“We’re looking at a situation where our democracy is being eroded,” Felipe Sousa-Lazaballet said. “This is the reason why so many of our groups came together to say that’s it. That’s how we are. That’s not what Central Florida is about.”
