Emmy-nominated actress Mandy Moore has joined Peacock’s “Dr. Death” for Season 2 of the anthology series, which will feature the “Miracle Man” storyline based on the third season of the podcast of the same name.

Moore, who was most recently seen in “This is Us” and attended the Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, will play Benita Alexander, an investigative journalist who uncovers disturbing secrets about her boyfriend and fiance, surgeon Paolo Macchiarini, played by Edgar Ramirez.

ABC docu-drama “The Con” also covered Alexander’s story in 2020.

Series creator Patrick Macmanus will be executive-producing Season 2. Ashley Michel Hoban, who worked on Season 1 as a writer and producer, will be taking on showrunning duties.

No information about when the new season will be shot or released has been announced.

Season 1 of “Dr. Death,” which stars Joshua Jackson as a neurosurgeon who became infamous for permanently mutilating his patients, is now streaming on Peacock.
