New Orleans foodies love this new Mississippi Coast ramen restaurant. Here’s what to try

Hot honey chicken katsu buns. Crab rangoon nachos. Red curry chicken ramen.

These are just a few dishes on the menu at Kaiteki Noodle Bar, a new ramen restaurant in downtown Long Beach, Mississippi, that is getting noticed by New Orleans foodies.

Chef Lauren Joffrion, a culinary giant on the Mississippi Gulf Coast who has worked in steakhouses and fine dining spaces for years, creates the unique Asian dishes featured at Kaiteki, which opened this spring.

The restaurant’s owners, William and Brooke Rester, saw a need for ramen in the area and leased the space left open by a sushi restaurant that closed.

The Resters also own two other popular food spots on the Coast — Radish, a fine dining restaurant, and Dolce Bakeshop. All three restaurants are within about a block of each other in downtown.

New Orleans food reviewer Mattlan Ladner, known on Instagram and TikTok as Big Eatsy, featured Kaiteki on his “Mississippi Monday” dining spotlight this week.

Ladner and his guests enjoyed the cocktails, the rangoon nachos with a sweet sauce and the flavorful broths in the ramen dishes. His crew tried the shrimp ramen in addition to the red curry with chicken.

“I can’t wait to come back and try more flavors,” Ladner, a Mississippi Coast native, said in the video.
