The Audubon Nature Institute (ANI) in New Orleans, Louisiana, celebrated the late actress Betty White’s 100th birthday on January 12, with a special enrichment activity for Ruby, a resident otter.

Newly released footage filmed by the institute shows Ruby enjoying treats from a platform decorated in celebration of White.

“We lost a conservationist, animal advocate, and friend,” ANI wrote in a December 31 tweet. “When the penguins & sea otters were evacuated to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for Hurricane Katrina, Betty White paid for the plane to relocate them.”

“At the time, Audubon did not know that Betty White was the anonymous donor who paid for a portion of the trip,” the institute wrote in a Facebook post. “She did not want any fanfare surrounding her generosity; she just wanted to help animals.” Credit: Audubon Nature Institute via Storyful
