Orrville City Schools salaries: who are the top earners

ORRVILLE — A trio of administrators have the highest salaries among the 223 employees in the Orrville City Schools. Orrville spent $10,979,865 in salaries for fiscal year 2023.

Middle School Principal David Sovacool was the highest-salaried employee in the district at $106,307. Assistant Superintendent Brett Lanz was next at $103,137. High School Principal Timothy Adams was the only other employee in the district with a salary exceeding $100,000 ($101,821).

Veteran middle school teacher Loretta Riley had the highest salary for teachers at $91,828. She was followed by Kristin Horsburgh at $88,291, and elementary school teacher Leann Diebel at $86,572.

Curriculum Director Amy Wilson had a salary of $88,000 and Middle School Assistant Principal Sly Slaughter's salary was $84,805.

Superintendent of Schools James Ritchie has served as an interim superintendent for Orrville in addition to a number of other districts during the superintendent search process. His salary from the Orrville City Schools for fiscal 2023 was $20,000.

Salary range and structure

The starting salary for a teacher with a bachelor's degree in the Orrville City School District is $41,160. For a teacher with a master's degree, the starting salary is $44,276 or $45,935 with a master's plus 15 hours.

For teachers employed by the district prior to July 1, 2011, the salary range was $34,680 to $45,834.
