OSAA basketball coaches poll update: Local teams rising

The Willamette girls and Junction City boys basketball teams remain No. 1 in the latest weekly OSAA basketball coaches poll.

The Wolverines (12-0) received all 11 first-place votes in the Class 5A girls poll, while the Tigers (14-2) received six of the 10 first-place votes. No. 2 Marshfield (13-2) also received three first-place votes.

Pleasant Hill (11-3) and Creswell (9-2) were ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, in the boys 3A poll. The two Mountain Valley Conference rivals play Wednesday in Creswell.

The 4A girls poll included three Sky-Em League teams as Junction City (12-4) was fourth, Marist (8-5) seventh and Marshfield (11-3) eighth.

No. 3 Sutherlin (13-1) and No. 4 Harrisburg (15-1) were in the 3A girls poll.
