OSBI: 10k reward available for info in 20-year-old county cold case

Oct. 21—Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) announced Tuesday the reward of $10,000 for information leading them to solve a cold case dating back nearly 20 years in Stephens County.

According to OSBI, the information must lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects or materially assist in the investigation of the December 2000 murder of George "Dale" Turner."

OSBI information shows Turner, then 40, "was found shot to death on Dec. 20, 2000" by his son at his residence near Bray in Stephens County. Stephens County Sheriff's Office, at the time, requested OSBI for assistance on the case.

Records show just days after the apparent murder, "a pair of boots were found a short distance from Turner's house and may be connected to his murder," and anyone who recognizes the boots or knows who they belong to or has any other information is advised to contact law enforcement.

The OSBI can be contacted by dialing 800-522-8017 or via email at tips@osbi.ok.gov. Those turning in information can remain anonymous.
