Osborne County woman dies in Smith County crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A crash in northern Kansas killed a woman from Osborne County Tuesday evening.

Wanda Prowse, 69, of Natoma, was a passenger in an SUV that was headed southbound on Kansas Highway 181 in Smith County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the SUV went into the ditch for an unknown reason. Troopers say the driver overcorrected, crossed the center line, then overcorrected again and went back into the ditch. The SUV hit a culvert and ended up overturning and coming to rest on the passenger side.

Prowse died in the crash.

The 62-year-old Natoma man who was driving had serious injuries and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
