1. A friend of former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg has agreed to plead guilty in federal court to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and distribution of a controlled substance, according to documents from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. (Fox 35 Orlando)

2. A caregiver is accused of stealing $14,000 from an 80-year-old Central Florida woman with dementia. 56-year-old Donnitta Jean Vaugh of Kissimmee was arrested by Polk County detectives on Monday. (WESH)

3. A lockdown at an Osceola County high school was lifted early Wednesday following a false report of a possible weapon on campus, according to school officials. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said three students were simulating a school shooting at Liberty High School. (WFTV)

4. The Enzian Theater in Maitland will be kicking off February with a showcase of the cinema of Meatloaf, paying tribute to the recently-deceased singer. There will be a screening on Fight Club on February 4th and Rock Horror Picture Show on February 5th. (Orlando Weekly)

5. An analysis by Truth in Accounting (TIA), a nonprofit government finance watchdog group, found Orlando needed $79.5 million to get out of the red, or $900 from each city taxpayer.
