Oshkosh businesses roll out winter menus and festive treats | Streetwise

OSHKOSH – The days may be getting shorter and the weather colder, but there's no lack of holiday cheer in Oshkosh.

Local restaurants, cafes and other businesses are rolling out winter and holiday specials through December. Here's a list of local businesses with festive plans.

Customer holiday party at the Hangar Bar and Grill

The Hangar Bar and Grill, 1485 W. 20th Ave., will invite customers to celebrate the holidays with a customer party from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 22.

The bar will serve appetizers, and prizes and gifts will be drawn every half hour.

Gardina's announces winter menu

Gardina's Kitchen Bar & Market, 448 N. Main St., last week on Facebook announced its winter menu, which includes shrimp and beer cheese grits, blackened haddock, red wine salmon and crab bucatini pasta.

The menu also features Cheesemonger's Mac, braised New Zealand lamb shank and teres major steak with cognac sauce.

Holiday treats at Tamara's the Cake Guru

Tamara's the Cake Guru, 2271 Westowne Ave., offers decorated cupcakes or cookies in a large selection of themes and flavors, including peppermint, cherry, gingerbread and bourbon, as well as fun decorations including the Grinch, Santa Claus, snowmen and reindeer.

The store also has holiday-themed macarons, cheesecake, Christmas tree fruit pizzas and customizable Jingle And Mingle Signature Holiday Cakes, as well as two sizes of "Char-Cookie-Rie" boards available to order on its website, cakeguru.com.

Hot cocoa bombs, nonpareils at Oaks Candy

Oaks Candy, 1206 Oregon St., rolled out its holiday treats early in November, which include meltaway hot cocoa bombs, white chocolate peppermint nonpareils and Christmas-themed Peep pretzels.

The candy shop also makes homemade candy canes each year. This year it is offering 10 flavors, including last year's "mystery flavor" that was blue raspberry, and a new mystery flavor.

Cocktails at Dockside Tavern

Dockside Tavern, 425 Nebraska St., has a line of holiday cocktails to go alongside its Friday fish fry and other seafood dishes.

These include eggnog, a sugar cookie martini, the White Christmas Margarita with Exotico tequila and Malibu rum and the Winter Wonderland white chocolate martini with Tito's vodka and peppermint schnapps.

Cocktails and a holiday market at The Howard

The Howard, 405 Washington Ave., has a winter cocktail line featuring a peppermint mocha martini, sugar cookie martini, Winter Wonderland Margarita, Cranberry Maple Bourbon Sour and "Candy Milk" — a gingerbread White Russian.

The venue will also host the Howard Holiday Market, a free admission vendor market, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 11 in its Grand Ballroom. The cafe will be open, as well as a cash bar.

The market will also have $20 professional photos with Santa on the Grand Ballroom stage, and a $30 brunch buffet — $15 for children — in the Great Hall. Reservations for both are required, and available on The Howard's website, thehowardoshkosh.com.
