OSHKOSH ‒ Mayor Lori Palmeri, the Democratic candidate, will represent Oshkosh in the 54th Assembly District following Tuesday's election. She ran against Republican opponent Donnie Herman.

Palmeri, who is in her second term as mayor of Oshkosh and served a total of six years on the city council, received 12,124 votes with 100% of precincts reporting.

Herman, a local businessman who previously ran for the seat in 2020, had 10,382 votes. The results are from the Winnebago County Clerk.

Palmeri will fill the seat that was vacated by long-time Rep. Gordon Hintz, who represented Oshkosh for 16 years — including serving as the Minority Leader from 2017 to 2021 — after being first elected in 2006. Hintz decided in March he would not seek reelection for his seat.
