OSHKOSH - The Oshkosh Area School District will host a district-wide job fair with on-the-spot interviews from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 19 at the OASD Administration Office, 215 S. Eagle St. Another job fair will be held Aug. 16.

In addition to teaching staff, the district is seeking substitutes, clerical, custodial, food service and more.

Job seekers will meet with human resources staff, principals, supervisors and educators.

Oshkosh Garden Club to meet July 13

The Oshkosh Garden Club will tour the Garden of Edna, at 2949 W. 20th Ave., at 5:30 p.m. July 13.

Old National Bank continues operations from trailer

The Old National Bank Oshkosh branch will have its temporary location in the parking lot of the original office at 420 S. Koeller St.

The bank will operate out of the trailer while the new building is under construction at the same site. The new building is anticipated to open in early 2024.

A drive-up, ATM and night drop deposit are still available. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays. The phone number remains 920-891-7268.

Awards announced for 4-H Clothing Review

Winnebago and Fond du Lac counties joined forces for this year’s 4-H Clothing Review. It was held June 19 in Oshkosh. Eleven youth participated by modeling garments of their own construction.

All 4-H youth in kindergarten and older are eligible to participate. Participants learn how to model the garments they design, sew, embellish and accessorize. They also explain the construction and care of their garments during a face-to-face meeting with the judge. The youth and their garments are judged on posture, poise, creative selection, care, pressing, fit, construction and workmanship.

Golden Thread Awards were presented to Paige Woelfel and Teagen Hopp from White Cedars 4-H Club and Lucy Wurzbach from 4-H Friends in Winnebago County.

The Best of Show Awards were presented to Gabby Hostettler from White Cedars 4-H Club in Winnebago County and Alaina Pickering from Armstrong 4-H Club in Fond du Lac County.

Some of the garments will be on display at the Fond du Lac County Fair July 19-23 or the Winnebago County Fair Aug. 2-6.

Fox Valley Chorus marks Barbershop Music Appreciation Day

The Fox Valley Chorus will celebrate National Barbershop Music Appreciation Day July 13.

The event was created by Sweet Adelines International in 2005 to mark its 60th anniversary.

The Fox Valley Chorus of Sweet Adelines International meets Tuesdays in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Church St, Neenah. Women who wish to sing are welcome.

The chorus is a member of the Fox Arts Network and has been part of the Fox Valley community for more than 50 years.

Winnebago County residents graduate, become State Patrol

The Wisconsin State Patrol’s 68th Recruit Class recently graduated. The new troopers will be assigned to serve communities across Wisconsin.

Winnebago County residents include Cole Glassford, Oshkosh, assigned to Southwest Region - DeForest Post; James Henkel, Neenah, assigned to Southeast Region - Waukesha Post; and Christopher Czarnik, Menasha, assigned to Southwest Region – Tomah Post.

State Patrol officers serve in a variety of roles, including enforcement; inspectors; crash reconstruction; airplane and drone pilots; and dignitary protection, K-9 and motorcycle officers.

The graduation recognizes the officer’s 26 weeks of required training. Cadets complete classroom work along with scenario courses. New troopers receive an additional 12 weeks of on-the-job training.

Upcoming Oshkosh library programs include DIY and Wonderlab

Upcoming programs at the Oshkosh Public Library include an adult DIY, a Memory Café and a youth Wonderlab.

Adults are invited to create a suncatcher or a handmade notebook at 6 p.m. July 11. Registration is required to attend the in-person session at 920-236-5205. For those who prefer to craft at home, free kits are available at the second-floor service desk, while supplies last.

The July 12 Memory Café will be a “Show and Tell” with antiques dealer Joyce Anderson. The session runs 1:30 to 3 p.m. on the library’s lower level.

Participants are invited to take an antique item to share and Anderson may be able to add informative details. She also will share some of her own items.

Memory Cafés are intended for people experiencing memory loss and their caregivers.

A Wonderlab: 3D Printing session for children ages 5 to 8 will be offered over two sessions. The first will meet July 13 on the lower level, with the second on July 27 “under the dome.” Both sessions begin at 6:30 p.m.

Children will have a chance to explore basic S.T.E.A.M. principles. Registration is required by calling 920-236-5208 or in person at the Children’s Department.
