Osky seventh graders battle Newton

Feb. 24—OSKALOOSA — Monday evening the Oskaloosa seventh grade boys took on the Newton Cardinals.

In the "A" game, the Indians suffered only their second loss of the year falling to Newton 40-37.

Leaders in the game were Max Roach with 16 points, four steals and four rebounds. Trey Parks with seven points and three rebounds. Carter Hoskinson had six points and six rebounds. Kayne Boender and Kaiden Parker added three points and one rebound respectively. Ethan Stek chipped in two points in the loss for Oskaloosa.

In the "B" game, the Indians had balanced scoring and pulled off a 27-22 win.

Leaders were Kaiden Parker with 11 points and one steal. Tate Peterson with seven points and one steal. Omar Garcia (three steals and one rebound) and Blake Herny added three points apiece. Samba Cisse had two points, three steals and one rebound. Landon Romas chipped in a point from the charity stripe.

In the "C" game, the Indians dominated from start to finish crushing the Cardinals 32-7.

Leaders for the Indians were Mason Muir with eight points, Cole Van Der Wal with seven points. Maddox Maxwell with five points, Marshall Siebert with four points, two steals and one rebound. Chad Mcdonald Playle and Mason Beane with three points, one steal and one rebound, respectively. Trevin Griffin had two points and two steals.
