Osky seventh graders take two of three from PCM

Feb. 24—MONROE — The Oskaloosa seventh grade boys basketball team won two and tied one game against the Mustangs Tuesday night on the road at PCM.

In the "A" game, the Indians fought hard against a physical PCM team to win 47-37.

Leaders for the Indians were Max Roach with 21 points, five steals, four rebounds and two assists. Trey Sparks nearly missed a double-double with nine rebounds and 10 points to go with an assist. Carter Hoskinson added eight points, five rebounds and one assist. Linus Morrison (five rebounds) and Kaiden Parker added three points apiece. Omar Garcia chipped in two points.

In the "B" game, the Indians dominated the game and the boards from start to finish pulling down 19 rebounds in a 46-19 drubbing of the Mustangs.

Leaders for Oskaloosa were Omar Garcia with 11 points, three rebounds and three steals. Landon Romas (two rebounds and two steals) and Blake Herny (three rebounds) added seven points apiece. Tate Peterson added six points, four rebounds and three steals. Heavon Knox and Samba Cisse (one steal, one assist) added three points apiece. Kris Perla (one assist and one steal), Holden Braundmeier (three rebounds, one assist) and Maddox Maxwell chipped in two points apiece.

In the "C" game, the two teams tied 6-6 in a half of basketball.

Leaders for Oskaloosa in the shortened contest were Kris Perla (one steal and one rebound) and Trevin Griffin (four rebounds and one steal) with one field goal apiece and Marshall Siebert (one blocked shot, one steal and one rebound) with 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. Brock Beerbower added three rebounds while Maddox Maxwell had one rebound and one blocked shot. Mason Beane had one rebound and one steal and Kazy Malloy had one rebound and one assist to help the Indians cause.

The final game will be this Thursday on the road against Grinnell.
