A crowd of around 7,000 attended Oklahoma State's spring football practice on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium. The highlights of the day were the backup quarterbacks, Gunnar Gundy and Garret Rangel. Both faced the pressure of a live game, and both impressed with accurate passing and the running ability to escape trouble.

Gundy is the son of Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy. Rangel is a true freshman and early enrollee.

"They can both spin it," OSU receiver John Paul Richardson said. "They're both football junkies, always watching film. I'll go in and watch, and those two are already in there. They're just really good kids and they have really bright futures."

The No. 2-ranked OSU baseball team lost a 15-9 extra-innings decision to Oral Roberts early in the week at O'Brate Stadium. Oklahoma State then lost two of three games a three-game, Big 12 series against No. 10 TCU in Stillwater. Up next is a big conference series with Texas.

Oklahoma State swept its conference softball series against Texas but it could have been costly. In the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, a 3-0 Cowgirls win in Stillwater, star pitcher Miranda Elish suffered what appeared to be an injury to her throwing shoulder. Cowgirls coach Kenny Gajewski said Elish, who exited the game in the seventh inning, will get an X-ray to see if there is any structural damage.

Oklahoma State' Lianna Bailey was medalist, and teammate Han-Hsuan Yu finished in a third-place tie, but that wasn't enough to keep Texas from winning the team title at the Big 12 Women's Golf Tournament at the Houston Oaks course in Hockley, Texas.

Texas beat Baylor and OSU by three strokes for the team championship. The Longhorns shot a three-day 24-over-par 876.

Bailey won the individual crown by edging Baylor's Addie Baggarly by one stroke. Bailey shot a 2-over 215 for the tournament.
