OSU Mansfield homecoming activities

The Ohio State University at Mansfield announced the six students selected for the 2022 Homecoming Court.

The royalty members are selected based on leadership qualities, spirit, integrity and achievement through contributions and involvement at OSU. The selection process begins with an application – based on the applications and GPAs, students are interviewed by a panel of staff, faculty and alumni. When a court is chosen, a student vote is held and combined with interview scores to determine the two Royal Buckeyes.

This year’s OSU-Mansfield homecoming court is as follows:

  • Kayla Estes, a sophomore, of Mount Vernon, majoring in veterinary medicine.

  • Star Griffin of Akron, a sophomore, majoring in middle childhood education.

  • Britney Lykins, a senior, of Willard, majoring in middle childhood education: science and social studies.

  • Clarisseanna Mercer, a senior, of Mansfield, majoring in social work with a minor in child abuse and neglect.

  • Devon Reinhart, a junior, of Lexington, majoring in business management.

  • Isaiha Whatley, a sophomore, of Cleveland, majoring in microbiology.

Homecoming Week

Each campus at Ohio State hosts its own homecoming celebration events. The Mansfield Campus will kick off homecoming week on Tuesday, Sept. 27, with free walking tacos on the Ovalwood patio for students. On Wednesday Sept. 28, there is a Meet the Court Luncheon for students to get to know the 2022 Homecoming royalty. On the evening of Thursday Sept. 29, students will celebrate with a tailgate cookout and cornhole tournament.

On Friday afternoon, Sept. 30, all Ohio State campuses will come together on the Columbus campus for the regional campus Homecoming royalty coronation. This ceremony at the Longaberger Alumni House will crown two court members from each campus (Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark, Wooster) as Royal Buckeyes. The coronation will be live streamed at go.osu.edu/RegionalCrowningLive. Immediately following this ceremony, all court members will be in the annual Homecoming parade that travels from Ohio Stadium to the Ohio Union.

Finally, students will be honored at the annual pep rally at Ohio Stadium. On Saturday, Oct. 1 the homecoming court members are introduced at both the Skull session in St. John’s Arena and then during pregame on the field at Ohio Stadium before the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
