OU baseball: Sooners sweep Texas in Austin for first time in program history

OU baseball gets first-ever three-game road sweep against Texas

The OU baseball program got its first-ever three-game road series sweep of Texas on Saturday.

OU beat the 14th-ranked Longhorns 9-6 and 6-4 in a doubleheader at Disch-Falk Field in Austin, Texas, as it accomplished the feat.

With the wins, OU improved to 22-19 overall and 7-8 in Big 12 play, while Texas fell to 27-15 overall and 8-7 in the Big 12.

It was OU's first sweep of Texas since 1998.

Third baseman Anthony Mackenzie drove in three runs in the first game Saturday and had four hits in the doubleheader. Right fielder Bryce Madron hit a three-run home run in the second game, while shortstop Dakota Harris had four hits over both games.

Braden Carmichael (3-0) earned the win in game one, while Carter Campbell picked up his first save at OU as he tossed 3⅓ innings in relief.

James Hitt (3-0) got the win in game two, and Aaron Weber earned his seventh save.

Oklahoma State baseball sweeps Kansas

The 24th-ranked Oklahoma State baseball team beat Kansas 8-3 as it sweeped the series Sunday at Hoglund Ballpark in Lawrence, Kansas.

OSU has now won five straight games and is 28-13 overall and 11-7 in Big 12 play. Kansas is 19-21 and 5-10 in the conference.

Roc Riggio and David Mendham each had a pair of RBIs for the Cowboys. Riggio, Nolan Schubart, Marcus Brown and Tyler Wulfert each had two hits.

Bayden Root got the win in relief of starter Carson Benge. Root pitched four shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out five, and improved to 4-1 on the season.

Benge tossed three innings, giving up one run and finishing with four strikeouts.

OU softball: The top-ranked Sooners beat No. 19 Baylor 4-0 and 2-0 Saturday in Waco, Texas, sweeping the series. Nicole May pitched a complete game two-hitter in game two, while Alex Storako tossed 6⅓ innings in the first contest.

NBA: The Golden State Warriors beat the Sacramento Kings 126-125 Sunday in San Francisco, tying the Western Conference playoff series at two games apiece. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 32 points. ... The New York Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 102-93 in New York and leads 3-1 in the Eastern Conference series. Jalen Brunson had 29 points for the Knicks.
