Turner-Yell, a native of Hempstead, Texas, was a consistent starter on the Sooners' defense the past three seasons.

Turner-Yell, who majored in human relations, started all 13 games he played in during the 2019 OU football season. He started he played in during 2021, and started eight of the 10 games he played in during 2020.
