Brooks, a native of Mansfield, Texas, started 17 of the 26 OU football games he played in during the 2019 and 2021 seasons. He opted to sit out the 2020 season.
Brooks graduated in 2020 with a criminology degree, and currently is pursuing a master's degree in construction science.

Brooks rushed for a career-best 1,253 yards on 198 carries during the 2021 season, scoring 13 rushing touchdowns in the process. In 20918 and 2019, he gained 1,056 and 1,011 rushing yards, respectively.
