Scouting TCU

Record: 3-0 (0-0 Big 12)

Best player: Derius Davis has big-play potential. The senior wide receiver has seven catches for a team-high 126 yards and two touchdowns this season, and he's also a threat in the return game. Davis is averaging 21.75 yards per punt return and 48.5 yards per kickoff return, which both rank first in the Big 12. He delivered a 60-yard punt return in a Week 1 win over Colorado.

The case for TCU: The Horned Frogs are averaging 510 yards of offense per game, which ranks third in the conference. Similar to Kansas State, TCU is a team that doesn't beat itself. Senior quarterback Max Duggan has a rating of 216.03, and he hasn't thrown an interception yet this season. Defense is a concern for a group that ranks last in passing yards per game (272.3), but the linebacker duo of Dee Winters and Johnny Hodges boast a combined total of 5.5 tackles for losses and are capable of causing problems.

The case for Oklahoma: OU committed 11 penalties for 87 yards in its loss to Kansas State. Its offense missed out on numerous big plays due to uncharacteristically-inaccurate passes by Dillon Gabriel. Its defense didn't record any sacks after averaging 4.3 sacks through the first three contests. Still, the Sooners only lost by a touchdown. If they can be sharper on both sides of the ball Saturday, they should be able to leave Fort Worth with a win.
