OU men's golf: Sooners hold on to team lead at Cabo Collegiate after Day 2

Mar. 3—Oklahoma's advantage dwindled at the Cabo Collegiate in the second round Tuesday. The Sooners shot a combined 7-over par, as their lead dropped from 10 to three strokes.

A tough day at TPC San Antonio saw every team other than Florida State shoot over par. The Sooners now sit at 6-over par for the tourney with the Seminioles their nearest pursuer.

Individually, Garett Reband carded OU's low round of the day with a 2-under 70. Reband is even par for the tourney and three shots back of the individual 36-hole leader, Florida State's Vincent Norma, who is 3-under.

Oklahoma junior and Day 1 leader Patrick Welch struggled Tuesday on the way to a 5-over par 77 to drop all the way back into a tie for ninth at 2-over. Sooner redshirt senior Jonathon Brightwell is a stroke back of Welch after shooting a second-round 75.

Oklahoma junior Logan McAllister also shot a 5-over 77 to tie for 23rd on the individual leaderboard heading into the final round. Quade Cummins improved after his first-round 78 to shoot a second-round 73 and is in a tie for 30th at 7-over par,

The Sooners tee off beginning at 9 this morning and will be paired with Florida State, Texas A&M and Arizona State.
