The $2.9 million Robinson Recharge Mobility Hub at 129 W. Robinson St. has 20 high-speed EV chargers that can give a vehicle about a 100-mile range in 20 minutes. The hub — which had its grand opening July 25 — can fit all types of electric vehicles and had a soft opening earlier in the month.

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said the new vehicle-charging hub on Robinson Street provides access not only for those who live and work downtown, but also for those attending events at the nearby Amway Center or if they are traveling along Interstate 4.

He added that the hub reduces “range anxiety” for drivers, where they are concerned they may run out of charge before their next destination.
